Obaid Al Ketbi: Emiratis Can Break Guinness Records

Dr. Obaid Al-Hairy Al-Ketbi expressed his pride in the UAE's entry into the Guinness Book of Records with the largest medal in the world bearing the name "Al Fursan", the team he founded in 2008, with the aim of spreading sports and making it a way of life.

Al Ketbi spoke about the importance of sport and its effective role in solving political problems, stressing that as an Emirati citizen he is looking to give back to his country through sporting community service.

He affirmed his great confidence in the people of the UAE to provide initiatives, break records worldwide, and serve their country in various fields. * As a diplomatic and sports personality, what is the relationship between politics and sports? Sport is a message of peace that brings people closer and overcomes many differences and differences. Many countries follow the diplomatic sport approach, and sport supports relations between them. What is your message that you want to send after entering the Guinness Book of Records?

The UAE is the one who entered, not me.. I am the son of this country, and everything I do is registered in the name of my homeland, the Emirates, and I am proud that the UAE entered the Guinness Book of Records with the largest medal in the world bearing the name of the Knights, and the medal weighs more than 68.5 kg, with an area of 2.56 square meters, and a length of 160 cm. Its width is 160 cm, and the aim is to contribute to highlighting the efforts of positive citizenship by achieving achievements that embody the personal and human experience, and employing individual efforts to give back to the homeland.

What is the story of the Knights team?
The Knights was an idea that appeared in 1999, but was actually founded in 2008, and initially included 13 individuals, and it continued to develop in quantity and quality until it reached 48 athletes participating in various local and international sporting events and activities, with the aim of spreading sports and making it a way of life.

Tell us about the most prominent participations of the Knights team?
The Al Fursan team seeks to provide community service and change the lifestyle, especially as we were suffering from lack of movement and practiced various sports, and participated outside and inside the Emirates, and the most prominent participation of the team was in the Wadi Beh International Marathon for a distance of 72 km, in 2014 and 2015 to show its capabilities in fitness, challenge, and running races hiking, cycling, mountain climbing, the Zayed Charity Marathon in New York, and a number of sports activities in various Australian states over a period of 3 years, from 2015 to 2018 while I was a former ambassador to Australia, which made me become another team made up of embassy staff, family and the Australian community.

You own a museum that includes 15,000 pieces from around the world, what is the purpose of it?
The museum is a private collection, it includes 15,000 pieces from around the world, and it is evidence of my country’s investment in my person, and my goal is to give back to my homeland, the UAE, by documenting everything in my personal museum.
